2012's Most Popular U.S. Neighborhoods According to Realtor.com, based on the most-searched areas by zip codes on their site, the top five (''hottest'') neighborhoods in the U.S. are: 1. Old Town – Chicago The Chicago Old Town neighborhood dates back to the 1870. Its Victorian-style buildings, dining scene, and pedestrian-friendliness make it the most searched neighborhood on Realtor.com. 2. Willow Bend Country – Plano, Texas This neighborhood, close to Gleneagles Country Club and Lewisville Lake, has freeway and commuter train access to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. 3. Keller – Fort Worth Keller, just outside Fort Worth, was one of Money magazine's ''10 Best Places to Live'' in 2009. Like #2, it has freeway access to Dallas-Fort Worth, lots of green space and ''forward-looking growth planning.'' 4. Spring Valley – Las Vegas This large Vegas neighborhood of low six-figures homes to more upscale homes has grown around a master-planned desert community in close proximity to the Vegas Strip. 5. Stoneybrook – Orlando Stoney is situated between the University of Central Florida and the Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park. It sports a championship golf course and is convenient to the Orlando airport.
