Ohio Turfgrass Foundation seeks support for the first-ever Ohio Turfgrass Week, May 26 – June 2, 2006. Ohio Turfgrass Week will be held every year beginning the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and continuing through the following Thursday. This week-long event has two primary goals in mind: 1) To generate public awareness of the turfgrass industry; 2) To create new funding sources for turfgrass research and education.
Cutbacks in state government spending for research at Ohio State University has significantly affected research and extension services for Ohio’s turfgrass industry. These budgetary cutbacks could have a negative impact on golf courses, athletic fields, parks, grounds, cemeteries, home lawns – and all other maintained green spaces.
OTF is a non-profit organization promoting and funding turfgrass research in Ohio. Donatios will directly support turfgrass research conducted by Ohio State University ?EUR??,,????'?????<
