A recent article in the Nashville press pointed out some of the region?EUR??,,????'???s oddities: a pyramid tomb, an old hickory tree with the face of a wizard carved into the trunk, a subterranean passageways at Vanderbilt University, and an extremely large Taco Bell sign, among others. The most natural and attractive oddity listed was Bison Meadows, a topiary project conceived by landscape architect Tara Armistead a decade ago as part of a beautification project for Forest Hills, Tenn., just southwest of Nashville. The bison at the northwest corner of Tyne Boulevard and Hillsboro Road are yew shrubs growing on metal armatures built by sculptor Alan LeQuire.
