The National Recreation and Park Association invites professionals to attend the annual legislative forum in Washington D.C., which will take place March 25 - 26. NRPA's Legislative Forum is the one time a year park and recreation professionals gather to learn about the impact of federal activities, discuss critical issues with federal policymakers, and share the important role parks play in conservation, health and wellness, and social equity. This year is shaping up to be a critical legislative year for parks and recreation. In 2014: Funding for walking and bike trails expires The debate over the future of LWCF begins We must protect funding for anti-obesity and health programs All of these impact parks and recreation. As a park and recreation professional, it is critical that you voice your concern and let your federal legislators know how important these programs and the funding are to your agency and your community.
