This is the fourth year that the BioBlitz event has taken place, and it is accessible across the country through the iNaturalist app.

During the month of September, the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and the National Recreation and Park Association are hosting the fourth Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz event. The program is designed to promote the important role that pollinators serve in a time that they are struggling.

The event itself consists of participants taking photos of plants, bugs, and animals in their local parks and submitting them to the iNaturalist app to record and identify their findings. Once recorded, the local park agency will be able to access the records allowing them to have a better idea of what they need to due to manage the many different species that live in and around their park.

Ayanna Williams, NRPA director of community and environmental resilience, summarized, "NRPA proudly partners with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation on the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz campaign to help engage communities in pollinator protection and to connect them to the vast network of local parks and pollinator resources."
