On December 11, the National Recreation and Parks Association released a free booklet titled, A Resource Guide for Planning, Designing and Implementing Green Infrastructure in Parks. It is available, in its entirety, on the NRPA website. The NRPA states that this new guide "provides basic principles, inspiration and ideas to help planners, designers and decision makers integrate green stormwater infrastructure into parks and park systems across the country." The 50-page booklet includes in-depth sections on site designs, site construction, and site maintenance and operation. A wide range of specific topics are covered as well, from permeable pavement to green roofs, each accompanied with photos from around the nation. The guide boasts a plethora of useful information aimed mostly at landscape contractors and city park planners or just anyone curious about how parks are incorporating environmentally friendly facilities and amenities.
