Throughout July, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is commemorating Park and Recreation Month, an annual tradition since 1985. The month serves as an opportunity to recognize the dedicated efforts of over 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals, as well as countless part-time workers and volunteers who maintain our local, state, and community parks.

 
Under the theme "Where Community Grows," this year's celebration showcases the ways in which parks and recreation contribute to vibrant and resilient communities. The NRPA acknowledges the essential role that park and recreation professionals play in uniting people, providing crucial services and nurturing community development.

The association explained, "Park and recreation professionals?EUR? make a positive impact on the lives of your community members every single day. Let?EUR(TM)s come together this year and show the world just how much parks and recreation means to our communities."
