Council Lacks Landscape Architects by Staff
The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) recently recognized the members of the NRPA Business Council that launched in 2022. This council was designed to bring together the business sector and the parks and recreation professionals that make up the NRPA. The two sectors could then solve common problems together, fuel innovation, and research how to best bring enhanced quality of life through better parks and recreation systems and facilities. The NRPA Business Council serves as a strategic advisory group that gives the business sector a voice in the parks and recreation world. The council was founded last year and includes numerous businesses from all areas around the parks and recreation industry. Some examples are BCI Burke, Greenfields Outdoor Fitness, and The Toro Company. "In its inaugural year, NRPA welcomed 11 members to the Business Council and identified goals and objectives in four priority areas to inform our efforts," said Paula Sliefert, NRPA Business Council Chair and Senior Manager, Sports Fields and Grounds, The Toro Company. "The council also spearheaded a survey of 750 companies to identify perspectives and challenges facing businesses working in the parks and recreation sector. We look forward to a productive year ahead, building on the momentum and accomplishments we have made so far together and welcoming our newest members to the Council." NRPA Business Council members include:
