President: Michael Askin President-elect: Emily Blackwell, ASLA As 2017 comes to a close, it has been a very productive and accomplished year for NCASLA. Since landscape architecture is a critical component to any design or land planning project in North Carolina, the chapter hosted the annual Legislative Social and Breakfast. This social event brought LAs together to network and discuss "hot topics," so they could engage NC legislators the next morning about important issues that affect NC citizens landscape architecture. During the breakfast a new video was previewed of important North Carolina works of landscape architecture, and interviews with ASLA past president Susan Hatchell, FASLA and Kofi Boone, ASLA, a North Carolina State University professor who discussed the importance of the landscape architecture profession (video @ https://tinyurl.com/ycajrng4).
