TRENTON, NJ - According to Joseph Simonetta, CAE, with Management and Governmental Affairs of the New Jersey chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the NJASLA is currently working on legislation to expand the statutory definition of closely allied professionals. Currently only Certified Landscape Architects are not included.
"Along with a host of business benefits that emerge from this statutory change the CLA will be in a better position to work with the other design professions to educate and enlighten them as to the expanded areas of practice that they would like to achieve," he said.
The Legislation has passed the Senate and awaiting a floor vote in the Assembly upon their return from summer recess. Simonetta expects the bill to be on the Governor's desk for enactment before the end of the year.
