WASHINGTON - A list of the top 20 most invasive plant species in New York State was made available by the Invasive Plant Council of New York State (IPCNYS).

The list reveals species of plants that have a statewide distribution or have the potential of becoming a statewide problem. This is the first ever list compiled for the state.

Species will be added or deleted as the council learns more about the species, their impact and the status of control efforts. To get more information and to get a list of the plants, visit the council's website at www.nysm.nysed.gov/ipcnys/.
