New Stewardship Award Presented at GIE

Debra Holder, former COO of the Associated Landscape Contractors of America, is the first recipient of the Project EverGreen Stewardship award, presented at the 15th annual Green Industry Expo in Charlotte, N.C.

The Project EverGreen Stewardship award presented to Debra Holder, the former chief operating officer of ALCA, was created to recognize a person whose efforts have particularly impacted the green industry. During Holder's leadership of ALCA, the membership of the organization more than tripled. She spearheaded certification for landscape professionals, the OSHA Alliance, the CNA Partnership, a sponsorship program, Student Career Days, the ALCA Advantage and, most recently, the ALCA Educational Foundation, to which she pledged $25,000.

Project EverGreen is not just about giving awards. It is developing a 2005 national marketing campaign to raise awareness of the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of landscapes and to promote the significance of those who preserve and enhance green spaces.
