The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals has announced the newly revised ANSI/APSP/ICC-3 2014 standard for permanently installed residential spas and now includes swim spas, a major change from the 1999 version. The revised standard also includes the latest safety and energy requirements by referencing the latest standards to ensure the highest degree of safety and operating efficiency.

"Contractors who are building, renovating or remodeling permanently installed spas or swim spas should use the new standards to provide their customers with the minimum guidelines for such a project," said DiGiovanni. "The design requirements and construction practices outlined in the Standard are based upon sound engineering principles, research and field experience that, when applied properly, contribute to consumer satisfaction and safety in the final product."

This standard is for the design, equipment and installation of permanently installed residential spas and swim spas and does not cover public spas or factory built residential portable spas.

The revised ANSI/APSP/ICC-3 2014 Standard can be purchased at APSP.org/Store.
