Evatech, Inc. recently unveiled their latest piece of robotic power equipment, which they dubbed the Multiple Application General Autonomous, or M.A.G.A. It comes with two attachments; for mowing lawns and for plowing snow, and it is electric. The M.A.G.A. is operated by a radio transmitter and controller that has two joy sticks. One joy stick controls the movement of the mower, while the other joy stick controls the attachment. The manufacturer asserts that this design allows the operator to use only one finger. Its 24-volt battery is rated to run three hours before needing a charge, and a hybrid system will charge the batteries during operation. The unit weighs in at 80 pounds and can climb slopes of up to 30 degrees. The mowing deck attachment is 22 inches wide and the snowplow attachment, which can be raised and lowered remotely, is 28 inches wide. Evatech lists it for $2,000.
