The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Commerce reported record high new housing sells for May 2003. The trend continued into the summer. In June, there were 1,160,000 new single-family home sold, an increase of 4.7% over May. In May, the trend seemed to be that as interest levels fell, housing prices rose. But June?EUR??,,????'???s rates show that even with low interest rates, housing prices started to fall, with median prices down from $195,200 in May to $187,000 in June. The average sales price was down from $243,500 in May to $242,500 in June.
