A new online handbook from the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) provides installation and maintenance best management practices for meeting ADA requirements. The guide is available here.

The International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) has released a new informative guide on the subject. This guide, released at the recent National Recreation and Park Association's (NRPA) Annual Congress, provides a complete source of regulations concerning proper installation and maintenance of all IPEMA certified playground surfaces.

"In the play industry, creating play spaces that are accessible to everyone is key and correct installation and maintenance of surfacing plays an integral role in this," said Randy Watermiller, IPEMA President.

The guide provides step-by-step lists for installation and maintenance of all types of IPEMA-certified surfacing, including artificial turf, engineered wood fiber, interlocking tile, poured-in place (PIP) and rubber mulch.
