The National Park Service has launched a new Web site that allows people to easily track national park planning projects. The site provides information about such routine work as trail rehabilitation as well as more significant matters, such as relocating the Liberty Bell or restoring the White House grounds, officials said. Yellowstone Superintendent Suzanne Lewis applauded the Planning, Environment and Public Comment program for making it easier for people to read public documents and comment on Yellowstone projects they care about.
For example, the public can access environmental assessments for the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center as well as proposed changes to Yellowstone fishing regulations.
“It will also help us become more efficient in our internal project monitoring through the use of one common database,” she said. Written comments will continue to be accepted as well. The Web address is https://parkplanning.nps.gov
