New Officers Take Their Places at IA Show

TAMPA, Fla.-Landscape Contractor National was on hand at the Tampa Convention Center for the 25th International Irrigation Show, Nov. 13-16. Attendance was up and the Nov. 11-16 education and certification sessions set participation records.

David Zoldoske, director of the Center for Irrigation Technology, California State University, Fresno since 1994, officially became the IA's new president at the keynote breakfast Nov. 15, replacing Brian Vinchesi, president of Irrigation Consulting, Inc. A member of the IA for nearly 20 years, Mr. Zoldoske asserted the IA be proactive, particularly to meet the challenges of water availability, water quality and energy usage.

Ken Mills, vice president of Rain Bird Corp., is the new president-elect. Doug York, president of Ewing Irrigation Products, is the new treasurer. Other new board members are Jeffrey Carowitz, marketing vice president for Hunter Industries, Inc., Mark Huntley, president of T-Systems International, and Mike Grundvig, vice president for the Western Division of Rain for Rent.

The 2005 IA Show is set for Phoenix, Nov. 6-8.
