New National Association

The American Green Industry Association (AGIA), founded by the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA) is a national association that represents only green industry suppliers. Members include wholesale nurseries, hardscape manufacturers, irrigation suppliers, equipment manufacturers and other wholesale suppliers.

The Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA) has announced that it will launch a new national association to represent green industry suppliers.

The new association, the American Green Industry Association• (AGIA) will operate exclusively online, rolling out two online directories as its first member services.

One of the online directories, WholesaleLandscaperSupply.com, is intended to serve landscape contractors and the other, WholesaleGardenCenterSupply.com, is intended to serve independent retail garden centers. These directories are designed to help green industry businesses find the products and services they need to be successful.

AGIA will serve North America's green industry companies that supply the $175 billion green industry, and will also deliver online business-building services to its members and the green industry.

Jim MacKenzie, chairman of PLNA's board of directors said, "We saw a need for an organization that exclusively represents the perspective of the industry's wholesale suppliers, just as we have associations that focus on landscape contractors and retail garden centers."

"Our business model is exclusively online," continued MacKenzie. "We want to use the internet and technology to provide services to the wholesale suppliers in our industry. These directories are the first step in that direction."
