Since its discovery, EAB has killed tens of millions of ash trees in southeastern Michigan alone, with tens of millions more lost in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Virginia, Ontario, and Quebec.

A Web site created for municipalities and property owners to learn about the successful control and treatment of emerald ash borer is available at www.treeresearch.org. The IPM Tactics and Tools section of the site explains the differences between spray and soil treatments and injections. The site also offers remedies and procedures for healing and saving ash trees.

Emerald ash borer (EAB) is an exotic beetle that was discovered in southeastern Michigan near Detroit in the summer of 2002. The adult beetles nibble on ash foliage but cause little damage. The larvae (the immature stage) feed on the inner bark of ash trees, disrupting the tree?EUR??,,????'?????<
