Daniel Nadenicek, MLA, will leave Clemson University to take the University of Georgia post.


Daniel Nadenicek, the chairman of planning and landscape architecture at Clemson University, will be the new dean of the University of Georgia College of Environment and Design, UGA administrators announced Feb. 20, 2008. Mr. Nadenicek will take the post effective Aug. 15, replacing Jack Crowley, who stepped down in 2006.

Landscape architect Scott Weinberg, a former associate editor for technology for LASN, was one of three finalists for the job. Mr. Weinberg has served as interim dean since September 2006 and on the environmental design faculty since 1982.

The other finalist, Brian Orland, heads the department of landscape architecture at Penn State.

Mr. Nadenicek?EUR??,,????'???s expertise is in historic preservation, landscape architecture and urban design. He directs Healthy Communities and Historic Preservation at Clemson’s Restoration Institute. He joined Clemson in 2002 after 11 years at Penn State on the landscape architecture faculty and as director of the Center for Studies in Landscape History.
