>Nemetschek North America donated VectorWorks Architect 2008 to the Design Studio of the Lower Ninth Ward Neighborhood Empowerment Network Association (NENA). NENA was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to help play a role in rebuilding New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward. The Design Studio at NENA is a small team of architects assembled in August 2007 to consult with residents about architectural consideration, new construction, renovation, obtaining building permits and working with contractors.
“At no other time and place in American history has building information modeling (BIM) been more needed than right now in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans,” said John Dwyer, AIA, director of the NENA Design Studio. “With thousands of homes needing to be rebuilt in a short period of time, an integrated approach to design and construction is the only solution to assuring accuracy and quality-very quickly,?EUR??,,????'?????<
