The proposal to install lights at the stadium has been discussed for more than a year. The school district maintains that it needs to light the stadium for night football and soccer games as well as other sporting events. In addition, school officials have stressed the overall shortage of field space and note that if lighted, the field could be used for practices as well.

Those noises, however, would not be welcome at night, said Thornton, who played parts of a recording she made in her living room during a Saturday afternoon football game in September. The cheering crowd, pep band, loudspeaker announcements and referees?EUR??,,????'?????<

She said the activity would disrupt the peace and quiet of the neighborhood at night and wreak havoc on her children?EUR??,,????'?????<
