ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Joseph M. Good, LC, president of the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP), recently announced that 199 lighting professionals sat for the 2001 examination, the fifth NCQLP exam since the program was launched in 1997. With a pass rate of 82.9 percent, the roster of lighting certified (LC) professionals has increased by 151. Two successful candidates took the test for recertification and 12 are intern LCs.
The LC class of 2002 brings the total number of Lighting Certified Professionals to 1,054, and this marks the first time the number of LCs has topped 1000.
NCQLP is a non-profit corporation founded in 1991 to "serve and protect the well-being of the public through effective and efficient lighting practice." Utilizing a peer review process, the NCQLP establishes the educational, experience and exam requirements for certification in the lighting industry.
