Naval Medical Center Turns Green for a Day

A leading provider of synthetic lawns for residential and commercial landscapes recently converted a hospital parking lot into a green park so wounded service members and the staff who care for them could enjoy a concert, a picnic with lunch provided by a celebrity chef, games and contests.

To help honor wounded service members and the staff who care for them, EasyTurf recently transformed concrete and asphalt areas around the Naval Medical Center in San Diego to a soft green space where the service members and their families could enjoy a day filled with numerous activities including a concert by Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band.

In addition to the show, there was a picnic with lunch provided in part by celebrity chef Robert Irvine, games, bouncy houses and contests. This marked the third year of the event and EasyTurf's involvement.

"We are always excited when we have an opportunity to honor our service members and their families," said Dave Hartman, EasyTurf president. "It was fun transforming their concrete and asphalt parking lot into a soft grass lawn so they could enjoy the day's events "at the park.' These men and women chose to serve their country for us, and this was just one way to show our appreciation for all they have sacrificed."

EasyTurf offers synthetic lawns for residential and commercial landscapes, and provides specialty synthetic grasses engineered for military surfaces, commercial and residential athletic and playground surfaces, putting greens, and pet-friendly landscapes. The company has long offered a military appreciation discount and continues to extend a $500 discount on an installation greater than 500 square feet to any who retired from our Armed Forces or still wears the uniform.
