The EPA’s Office of Water and the California Urban Water Conservation Council are looking to set up a new national organization to promote water efficiency. Partnering to develop a framework for water use and BMPs similar to the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, the organization will develop cross-state initiatives, conduct research, and coordinate partners as well as serving as a clearinghouse for information on progress and cutting edge change. To design a program that best meets the needs of water and related industries, information is being gathered in a number of ways including a series of workshops of interest to landscape superintendents that will include representatives of water and wastewater utilities, manufacturers of water using products, environmental organizations, builders and developers and interested government agencies.
