The Association's new annual conference and expo, ELEVATE, held in Dallas this year, was a huge success with 42% more contractor attendees than the inaugural event. The fast-growing conference and expo features education and networking for the nation's best CEO's, decision-makers, and manager-level team members.

Advocacy Efforts
NALP has been actively advocating for the interests of the landscaping industry as a whole. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations with many government agencies and NGO's, NALP has been able to influence policies and regulations that impact the industry on issues like the responsible transition to battery-powered equipment; H-2B reform, OSHA heat standards, pesticide preemption and more.
Connecting & Growing the Industry
NALP held its National Collegiate Landscape Competition in March of 2023 at Mississippi State University, for nearly 600 of the nation's top landscape and horticulture college students. NALP and it's foundation are focused on attracting students into the industry and supporting their education through scholarships and at the industry's largest career fair held at NCLC each year.
The association launched the Veterans in Landscape Network this year which is a compliment to the Women in Landscape, Young Professionals and Latino Landscape Networks which are open to everyone in the industry. The association has always had a focus on serving veterans including at the annual Renewal and Remembrance, day of service event that was held, once again, in July at Arlington National Cemetery and on the National Mall, where 500 volunteers helped beautify the landscape.

Promoting Sustainable Landscaping Practices
In 2023, the NALP launched several initiatives to promote the benefits of sustainable landscaping including releasing the association's commitment to sustainability statement which reads, "The environment is our business and our passion. Sustainable landscaping promotes biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, provides solutions to water management challenges, and plays a crucial role in climate resilience. The National Association of Landscape Professionals is committed to leading the industry in supporting sustainable solutions to reducing inputs and emissions and increasing efficiencies because the managed green spaces our members create and maintain support a healthier, more beautiful planet."
NALP partnered with the American Green Zone Alliance on it's Service Pro Certificate Course that teaches landscapers how to safely operate and adopt battery powered equipment. The online training is available in English and Spanish. Other initiatives included educational sessions, a website with recommended practices, and resources that highlight the benefits of sustainable practices and provide practical guidance on their implementation.
