On July 27, the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) announced they will form a Diversity and Inclusion Council to provide guidance and thought leadership around association programs and initiatives.

 
NALP states the Council will look at strategies to empower racial, gender and social equality within the industry with goals of recruiting a more diverse membership, increasing engagement from underrepresented groups and building a more diverse leadership.
As part of their commitment, the association states,
"There are many things we can do to help change the face of the industry. As we begin this journey together, know that we are committed to making progress. We are working to provide needed education and resources for employers to create more inclusive workplaces with pathways for advancement; to share stories that celebrate the diversity of our industry; and to bring new voices to our Committees, Councils, and Board of Directors."
