Kurt Fromherz Richard Ott Michael Byrne The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) presented Kurt Fromherz, Sunrise Marketing, Hartford, Conn., its prestigious Golden Garden Glove Award in recognition for the work he has done promoting Plant for the Cure. ?EUR??,,????'???? The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) recently awarded Dr. Wilbert Ronald of Jeffries Nurseries, Ltd, in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada, its Norman Jay Colman Award during an awards ceremony at the Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association Convention and Tradeshow. The ANLA Norman Jay Colman award recognizes an individual who has made noteworthy contributions to nursery industry research. Dr. Ronald has excelled in the areas of tree, shrub and lily research. He has introduced many cultivars that have had an immense impact on the plant industry. ?EUR??,,????'???? The World Waterpark Association has announced the retirement of Dave Bruschi as Executive Vice President of the Association. Bruschi was a co-founder of the Association with Al Turner in 1980 and worked with the Association in member services until 1982. Bruschi rejoined the Association staff in 1988 and has held various positions, most recently as the Association?EUR??,,????'???s Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. ?EUR??,,????'???? The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) presented its 2003 Lifetime Leadership Award to Richard Ott, CCLP, at its Executive Forum at Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa, Fort Myers, Florida. The Lifetime Leadership Award (formerly known as the Landscape Service Award) is presented annually to a member of the association who has demonstrated leadership, service, commitment, and contributions to both ALCA and the landscape industry. An active ALCA member and the 2002 president of the ALCA Educational Foundation (AEF). ?EUR??,,????'???? John A. Allin, CLP, of Allin Companies in Erie, Pennsylvania, was elected chair of the ALCA Certification Board of Governors at its recent meeting. This group of nine industry leaders is responsible for ?EUR??,,????'??steering the certification ship?EUR??,,????'?? and meets twice a year to set policy and implement marketing strategy. ?EUR??,,????'???? John Schwartz, an Amarillo Irrigation Contractor, was elected as the new Texas Turf Irrigation Association for 2003. ?EUR??,,????'???? Gretchen Beasley is the new Brick Industry Association executive manager in the administration division. She is responsible for the database and meetings arrangements and eventually will oversee the BIA website. ?EUR??,,????'???? William Tolley has been appointed executive vice president of the American Concrete Institute (ACI International).
