Moorish Residence, Coral Gables

Submission by EOS Outdoor Lighting

The outdoor lighting project, designed by Magda Colodetti from EOS Outdoor Lighting and installed by Lux Lighting, is truly stunning. It encompasses 120 fixtures, which include downlights, uplights, wall washers, mini wall washers, indicator lights, and inground lights.

Each fixture was strategically placed to create an awe-inspiring outdoor lighting experience. The lighting design focused on creating a soft light, highlighting the intricate details of the Moorish-style architecture, including the arches and other architectural features. Magda Colodetti specified fixtures from different brands, and most were adjustable, which helped with final adjustments at night. One of the noteworthy details was the installation of a mini beam by Brilliance under the small Cypress tree in the courtyard, which provided a gentle glow without creating a sparkle. Additionally, Colodetti used the mini beam in amber inside the planters at the entrance. Although the pictures do not do justice to this property's beauty, they offer a glimpse of the EOS landscape lighting projects.

The upcoming Lighting Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. This project was not chosen for a Feature in the issue, but we at LandscapeArchitect.com thought the project deserved to be showcased online . . .
