The President's Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) has mobilized eight task forces and mandated landscape architects and environmental planners across the nation to "achieve things larger than ourselves and more lasting than the present moment... and to provide more for the future." The Council's final recommendations to President Clinton on how "to prepare a national strategy for sustainable development in the United States," are expected to be released very soon.
