SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. The Talega Golf Course opened for play January 2001 but worked throughout the year finishing its landscape, particularly around the club house. Miramar Wholesale Nurseries signed on to provide plant
materials for the facility and year round color for the course. The club house grand opening was held November 15.
Miramar supplied more than 100 flats of Pansies, 50 flats of ivy geranium, several 13-foot Washintonia robusta palms and 15-gallon citrus. Additional plant materials will be rotated throughout the year.
Talega Golf Course was designed by Brian Curley and Fred Couples and features 18-holes on 120 acres; 30 acres are deemed natural habitat and three acres are wetlands. In December, it was nominated by Golf Digest as the Best New Public Course for 2001.
