Mill Ridge Park, Antioch, Tennessee

The Playgrounds Issue of Landscape Architect & Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. This project was not chosen for a Feature in the issue, but we at LandscapeArchitect.com thought the project deserved to be showcased online . . .
The first thing that you see when you pull up to Mill Ridge Park, are the vibrant colors and the amazing 52-foot slide, towering high above the park! This awe-inspiring playground is the largest in Davidson County and creates a place for everyone; offering adventure and challenge as well as spaces to explore, to socialize and to relax.

The 5-story custom towers invite you to climb as high as you can and take in the views across the park. 3D Spatial Net climbers challenge users both physically and mentally while creating an artistic look and feel to the playground. A low ropes course lets little adventurers practice their skills before braving the high tower, while a variety of swings ensures that there is truly an experience for all, regardless of age or ability. In between the high-octane fun, a hammock sways lazily inviting relaxation and peaceful reflection.

We are honored at the opportunity to collaborate with Metro Parks Nashville on this exciting project which is part of the Plan to Play initiative and thank the talented landscape architects at Nelson Byrd Woltz and HDLA for the opportunity.
