Most have holiday memories featuring holiday lights illuminating living rooms and exteriors worldwide. Whether it be white, color-changing smart, or incandescent lights, Christmas transforms private and public spaces into unforgettable holiday atmospheres.
According to the Christmas Light Source, one hundred and fifty million lights are sold in the United States each year, and on average, theme lights in the month of December use around 6% of the nation's electrical usage, and according to a 2016 LASN article, Christmas lighting is reported to be a $1 billion annual business.
The impact of the landscape industry reaches many other aspects of the holiday season as well, like growing Christmas trees, which can be found across the world, from Canada to Guatemala, to the Philippines to Saudi Arabia. According to
History.com, with 1,500 trees planted per acre and 98% of all natural Christmas trees grown on farms, landscape professionals of every variety are represented this December.
From all of us at LASN, we wish you a safe, fun, and Merry Christmas!
