Maruta Gardner Playground is a site dedicated to its community, representing fun and recreation alongside respect and remembrance. The playground includes a half-acre playground, replacement of the comfort station, a new shade structure, enhanced security lighting, and ADA-compliant sidewalk and ramp replacements. The heart of the playground is a large, sprawling rope climbing structure designed as a nod to the neighboring Belmont Park's iconic Big Dipper roller coaster. A whimsical cotton candy pink-and-blue color scheme captures a sense of joy and wonder within the park, and shade structures designed after ticket booths further expand the amusement park atmosphere.
