This year, the 2010 Landscape Expo is adding 50 percent more water feature seminars, plus increasing the number of exhibitors offering water feature products. The expo takes place October 6-7, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.

According to Eric Triplett, a.k.a. The Pond Digger and owner of Exotic Aquatics in Redlands, Calif., business opportunities in this field are good, especially with customers looking to upgrade and retrofit existing water features.

Rick Bartell, Bill Rose and Eric Triplett, all water feature experts, will teach construction methods and business skills to help contractors become successful in the water features business.

Rick Bartel, certified master water feature design and installation contractor and best selling author, will present a new seminar Profitable Water Feature Design Techniques on Wednesday, Oct. 6th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. He will also be signing his best-selling book, The R.I.S.E. Method: A How-To Guide for Designing and Installing Natural Appearing Ponds, Streams and Waterfalls. The book has already sold out of its first printing.

Other seminars include The Business of Pond Building, with Eric Triplett, and Increase Profits with Proper Fountain Design & Installation, by fountain installation expert Bill Rose.

The National Association of Pond Professionals (NAPP) will be exhibiting for the first time at this year's show. The NAPP, based in Epworth, Georgia, is the industry's largest water feature organization. NAPP seeks to gain more exposure to water feature professionals on the West Coast.

Exhibiting water feature companies include Savio, Horizon, Atlantic Water Gardens, Ewing Irrigation Products, Hydro-Scape, Tri-State Materials and Backyard X-Scapes.
