It?EUR??,,????'???s not often that people drive past a high school campus and marvel at the flower beds ?EUR??,,????'??? the main reason being that there aren?EUR??,,????'???t any. But Bob Stahl, facilities supervisor at Fremont high school in Sunnyvale, Calif., has transformed his campus into a year-round display of color. ?EUR??,,????'??I want them to say, ?EUR??,,????'??Oh my gosh, look at that!?EUR??,,????'??
Stahl, who is 60-years-old and is undergoing treatments for lung cancer, recently enlisted the help of volunteers to plant 6,000 tulip bulbs on the campus of Fremont high. According to maintenance staff member, Carlos Ramos, tulips are most important to Stahl, who selects varieties that bloom at different intervals in order to extend the displays of blooms.
?EUR??,,????'??I love the blooms because of their ability to pick up people?EUR??,,????'???s spirits,?EUR??,,????'?? said Stahl. ?EUR??,,????'??I?EUR??,,????'???ve been very lucky in my life to work at something I love doing.?EUR??,,????'??
For the past 24 years Stahl has worked tirelessly to keep the campus beautiful. Like most public schools, funds are limited so Stahl developed fund-raisers and receives steady donations to maintain the flowers beds.
Principal Peggy Raun-Linde says that Stahls title of facilities supervisor doesn?EUR??,,????'???t accurately describe the job he does.
?EUR??,,????'??He?EUR??,,????'???s an artist and it comes through in his garden,?EUR??,,????'?? she said.
