Letters to the Editor

Dear LASN:

[In response to the question: "What do you like about being a Landscape Architect?"] The big pay! I have to shovel the drifts of money away from my door each morning so I can go to the office!

Dear LASN:

Thank you for tracking what we do. My salary is on the rise, as this business is growing into its fifth year next year. I have just completed a detailed study of your December cover--Praise God for such a wonderful message to a profession which often forgets the one who made our land--we often pretend to recreate Eden, instead of caring for the land. Thank you.

Dear LASN:

The only thing I don't like about being a Landscape Architect is being so up and down on income, which relates to the economic ups and downs in the NE U.S. I also as a Christian appreciate the scripture references and look forward to seeing them. It is a tremendous witness in this age of "political correctness" and godlessness.

Dear LASN:

After nearly twelve years in private practice, struggling and coping with the ups and downs of the economy and unpredictable work schedules, I had just about had it with this career. I was lucky enough 1 1/2 years ago to gain employment with the city parks department. I am glad now that I stuck with those years of private practice, and I appreciate even more the job I have now. I have never had so much fun at a job than I do in parks & recreation. The work is varied; I work with consultants, citizens and their families; I do some design and some project management. For the first time in my life I look forward to work everyday, and I have fun everyday. And I am also making more money than ever before! I have finally found my niche, something that I love to do...and now I can call it work.
