The Long Beach Water Department will rebate $2.50 per square foot of lawn removed from front lawns and parkways and replaced with California friendly landscaping. Up to 1,000 square feet can be rebated.
Plant material must cover up to 65% of the landscaped area, and the landscape cannot contain any turf grass, whether it?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s natural or artificial. Plants can be chosen from lists found on either Los Angeles Coast Water Wise Gardening (www.sm.watersavingplants.com) or BeWaterWise.com/GardenSoft. Any plant not listed on those websites requires pre-approval from the LBWD.
