According to the survey, 96% of landscaping businesses reported a yearly increase in revenue in 2022 while 51% were unable to fill vacant positions. This is a substantial decrease from last year's survey when 92% of those surveyed stated that they were struggling to find employees. With employee hiring and retention a key challenge, this year's study also showed that 58% reported that they allow new hires to work without training to still get the job done.

The study goes on to show that finding and keeping qualified labor was the major challenge to grow their business over the course of the past year. 84% of those surveyed said that this was their biggest challenge while 69% said that rising costs were their greatest challenge. Other challenges companies faced were lower priced competitors (28%), maintaining equipment (23%), and managing cash flow (22%).

Meanwhile, amidst inflation, the survey still shows that 76% of respondents have had to offer raises to keep employees while 80% have implemented a bonus program.

The proprietary survey and report are a part of their educational programs to help professionals be more successful.
