Practical Teleconference for Landscape Architects and Designers

MADISON, WI

This practical course in lighting design and selection will provide Landscape Architects with an opportunity to master the basic concepts and important life cycle cost and energy cost considerations. The course emphasizes practical field principles and design techniques for landscape, commercial and industrial lighting systems. No prior formal training in electrical engineering will be necessary, and your participation will not require rigorous mathematical calculations. CEU credits will be awarded after course completion.

Sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison/Department of Engineering Professional Development, this course is offered via teleconferencing or at local University of Wisconsin campuses. Scheduled for April 23-April 13,1999, the sessions will be held on Tuesdays, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Central Time.

Instructors Scott Easton, EIT, and Laura Engelland, LC-- architectural lighting engineers at Affiliated Engineers-- will hold weekly sessions on topics that include lighting design goals, sources and fixtures, lighting design calculations, and special lighting issues like energy conservation standards.

As a participant, designers and specifiers will learn about the schematic design process for exterior lighting; become acquainted with the range of lighting sources and fixtures available today; and will practice lighting design calculations for traditional lighting systems.
