Jetting fountains are a popular feature for city plazas. These interactive fountains, what you might classify as fancy ''splash pads'' are not only great fun for the kids, but can be a source for nighttime entertainment when coupled with lighting fixtures.

The Fountain People, founded in 1987, is a Texas based fountain lighting manufacturer that strives ''to create compelling experiences through story, water, light and motion.'' Today, the company has grown from three employees to over 100. The art manufacturing and design work is accomplished in a 60,000 square foot facility. Their fountain work runs from the architectural, to the sculptural, to the interactive. Some are traditional fountains in plazas, or fountains in lakes; some have cascading waters.

The company's products and work can also be seen all over the world, including stateside at the Fountain Court at the Jackson Park Pavilion in Chicago, the Park at City Center, in Omaha, and the Plaza Fountain at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif., just to name a few.

What caught our eye recently at a product show was their new line of Liquid Color (RBG) and Liquid Light (white) LED fixtures. The little round Liquid Color LED fixtures (7.125'' dia. or 10.4'' dia.) have a color range of 16.7 million RGB colors, with continuous variable intensities.
