In the year of our Lord, Two thousand and four, The country gave Dubya A term of four more . . . And while there was nary A recount nor chad, Many stayed angry, If not even mad . . . The news of the day Had shootings and plight, With bombings in Baghdad And no end in sight . . . The terrorists fleeing, Yet fighting with haste, And rulers still vying For nuclear waste . . . So say what you like Of two thousand and four, It sure was a year, A true year for more . . . ––––– But what of the Business, The Profession, the Trade . . . It still was a hummin’ And money was made. Construction was cookin’ No time to relax . . . As fast as they built’em They sold to the max. It cost you for lumber, For steel and for gas, with no drag on building, It continued en masse . . . So like it or not This two thousand and four . . . It sure was a year To be planning for more. ––––– Now, finding and keeping A staff of good grade, Continues a problem That soon will not fade . . . For tighter the borders And smaller the schools . . . With greater demands You?EUR??,,????'???re not lookin?EUR??,,????'??? for fools As fast as you found them, You put them to work. Just “get the jobs done,” Without going berserk . . . So what can you say Of this year of our Lord? It was simply a year, To be looking for more . . . ––––– And now we reflect, On what caused us to thrive . . . Oh, we’re lucky to be here, To still be alive . . . For many have left us, The good ones it seems . . . They always keep leaving Yet filling our dreams. But onward they push us, There’s no looking back . . . With the help of those great ones, We’re staying on track. So onward it is . . . With memories galore . . . This wonderful year, Was a good year for more! ––––– And now as we look, At two thousand and five . . . A year full of promise In which we can thrive . . . With interest arisin’ And senses alert . . . It won’t be a year To be thinking inert. The country is growing, There’s lots of momentum . . . As fast as you build’em They’ll sell’em and rent’em . . . The landscape is moving There’s great things in store . . . So go out and get’em And do it some more! ––––– God Bless You All Have a Wonderful Christmas A Great Holiday Season And a Fantastic 2005!!!
