The Educational Foundation Raised More Than $20,000 at 2003 Conference

By January 2004, the ALCA Educational Foundation (AEF) had raised more than $20,000 at the 2003 Green Industry Conference (GIC) and Green Industry Expo (GIE) in St. Louis, Missouri. AEF held a raffle and a silent auction during the conference to help support scholarships for students in the green industry. The fund-raising efforts paid off, with $14,500 collected in raffle ticket sales.

The silent auction, held during the ALCA welcome reception, raised more than $5,000 and featured products and trips provided by Caterpillar Gravely, an Ariens Company; J. Thomas Distributors; Kichler Lighting; Lowes; and the Travel Worldwide Network.

The ALCA’s Educational Foundation (AEF) was formed to award scholarships and fund educational activities for the landscape industry. The Foundation’s mission is to promote and advance the landscape services industry by funding educational excellence. For more information on the AEF, visit the ALCA Web site www.alca.org.
