You know, they say that time flies when you are having fun . . . And we must have been having a great time over the past 10 years, because until I was almost done with this column nobody here realized that we were about to begin our 10th year of publishing . . . Whoa . . . Whaddaya know . . . Anyways . . . Hey Ohio . . . and Hey L.A. If you are reading this column and you are not in your home town, then there?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s a good chance you are either in Columbus, Ohio for the last of the stand-alone GIE Shows or you are in Pomona, Calif. (just outside L.A.) at the 46th Annual Western Landscape & Equipment Expo. Either way it is good to meet you . . . We hope you enjoy this ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Equipment Issue?EUR??,,????'?????<? of Landscape Contractor National . . . Or as we like to call it . . . ?EUR??,,????'?????<?LCN.?EUR??,,????'?????<? With all the heavy metal in this issue you may need earplugs . . . With all the horsepower in this issue you may need an ejector seat . . . That?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s right, with all the steel in this issue it?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s surprising you can even pick it up . . . Ok . . . So maybe I went a little over the top, but this is the Annual ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Equipment?EUR??,,????'?????<? issue and if you want to dig it, move it, place it or cut it you will probably find something useful in the pages to the right >>> And speaking about useful editorial, LCN (after a record year of reach, readership, response, advertising and total pages) is gearing up for a great 2007 and is expanding in almost everything we do . . . Last month I talked about the new peoplenews@landscapearchitect.com connection and I went on about the LCN ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Product Guy?EUR??,,????'?????<? and his tour to all the big landscape shows (you can reach him or send your product releases to theproductguy@landscapearchitect.com. In 2007, LCN is adding a new column called ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Ponds, Lakes and Waterfalls?EUR??,,????'?????<? where the magazine will take an in-depth look, through case studies, at successful installations and profit centers associated with this fast growing segment of the landscape installation marketplace. We will be focusing on the equipment needed to install, the parts associated with a successful water feature and the techniques designed to save you time and make you more $$$ . . . Also in 2007, LCN is adding a new column called ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Maintenance Issues.?EUR??,,????'?????<? But as we grow past 40,000 landscape contractors in 2007, we want to make it easy for you. Since so many of you are reading LCN every month (and the number keeps going up) it only makes sense to help you save time and money by having everything in one place.
