GLENDORA, Ca. – Rain Bird Corporation?EUR??,,????'???s Landscape Drip Division has unveiled a new line of Easy fit Compression fittings, engineered to reduce the amount of pressure required to insert tubing. The goal is increased efficiency and decreased effort when installing drip irrigation systems. Designed to accept a broad range of 1/2" tubing diameters, Easy Fit Compression Fitting are available in coupling, tee and elbow configurations. The design is compatible with .63" to .71" (16mm to 118mm) OD tubing.

The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) will be holding its annual conference on February 16-20, 2004. The call for presentations has begun. The IECA is looking for abstracts from contractors, design professionals, government personnel, researchers and manufacturers.
Presentation types include technical papers, training workshops, forums, poster presentations, new product symposiums and training courses. The deadline to submit is April 4, 2003. For more information contact the IECA at www.ieca.org or 970-879-3010.
Members of the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) recently participated in a Water Wise Survey to examine the assess how businesses were affected by water issues in 2002. A total of 8.5 percent of ANLA members were polled in regard to the issue. The following questions and the respective answers are some of the survey?EUR??,,????'???s key elements:
Did dry weather have a direct financial cost to your business? Seventy-six percent of respondents said dry weather played a negative role in their business.
Have you changed your business strategies because of dry weather? Fifty-three percent said they created new marketing plans, changed irrigation systems, educated customers on water wise use, and promoted drought-tolerant plants and xeriscaping.
Are you involved with your local water board? Only 23 percent of respondents said they are involved with the water board.
Have you ever attended a water meeting? Forty-three respondents said they have attended a water meeting.
