Jack Buzzard, who spent 35 years developing markets for Rain Bird, has been named the recipient of the Irrigation Association’s 2004 Crawford Reid Memorial Award. The award recognizes achievement in promoting efficient irrigation techniques and is scheduled to be presented at the 25th International irrigation Show in Tampa, Fla. on Nov. 15.
Former Irrometer Co. president William R. Pogue has been named the recipient of the Irrigation Association’s 2004 Industry Achievement Award. The award recognizes outstanding work by an individual in the irrigation industry to promote the industry and its products. Pogue retired in 2003. He is scheduled to accept the award in Tampa, Fla. on Nov. 15.
Edward M. Norum, the Center for Irrigation Technology’s first executive director, has been named 2004 Person of the Year by the Irrigation Association. Dr. Stuart Styles, director of the Irrigation Training and Research Center, also receives 2004 Person of the Year honors.
North American Green has been acquired by The Tensar Corporation of Atlanta, Ga. The company’s erosion control products will mesh well with Tensar’s line of geogrid and foundation systems, North American president Jim Niemeier says. North American Green will continue operations as an independent subsidiary based at its current headquarters in Evansville, Ind.
