Jerry Randecker has been appointed president of BOMAG Americas, Inc., an international manufacturer and marketer of compaction and road building equipment. He succeeds Charles M. Simpkins, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the company. Randecker holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Western Illinois University and a master's degree in finance from Loyola University.

Ingersoll Rand announces the recent appointment of Daniel Sandonato to vice president, global marketing road development. Sandonato holds an MBA for Xavier University in Cincinatti, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Ewing Irrigation, a promoter of the importance of water conservation to irrigations professionals, would like to announce the appointment of Christine Hawkins as Water Management Specialist serving Central California. Hawkins joins Ewing with an environmental horticulture science degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

SOLO Inc. has named Jeff Burgess National Sales & Marketing Manager. Burgess joins SOLO, Inc. with more than 25 years experience in the industry, including 17 years in various sales and marketing positions with the Agway Division of Southern States Cooperative, Inc. SOLO manufactures chain saws, leaf blowers and other power equipment.

Dorothy Schaefer has joined the customer service department at Stellar Industries, a locally owned and operated manufacturer of hydraulic truck mounted equipment. She has over 30 years in the crane and service truck industry; she will handle the majority of parts sales and assist with warranty claims.

The Wagner Companies announced that Greg Krouse has joined their company as a Process Development Engineer. Krouse will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of the quoting, engineering and manufacturing processes for railing systems for The Wagner Companies, a manufacturer of handrail fittings and metal products. He earned a degree in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

The Arizona Landscape Contractors' Association at its past Twenty-Ninth Annual Arizona Excellence in Landscaping Awards honored both John and Barbara Stropko, owners of New Desert Gallery Inc., the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the many years of highest standards of professionalism, outstanding service and dedication to the Association and the landscape industry.

Tom Shannon has been appointed as the Water Conservation Advisor for the Eastern United States at Ewing. Shannon has over 28 years of experience in irrigation installation and design; his expertise includes large system planning, computerized central control, water management training, and one source specification for public agencies.

Arnco, a supplier of tire polyurethane flatproofing products for off-road equipment vehicles, has expanded its marketing and promotional support capabilities by appointing Daniel Carapellotti to the new position of Communications Coordinator. The firm has processing facilities in South Gate, Berea, Ohio and Manchester, England.

Matt Shreves, long active in regional irrigation associations, is the new Gulf regional sales manager for Weathermatic, an irrigation equipment manufacturer. Shreves has more than 20 years experience in landscape contracting and distribution and has worked with Weathermatic as a sales rep since 2002. He is also actively involved in education and training programs.

Irrigation Professional Bill Savelle has been promoted to national sales manager at Weathermatic, an irrigation equipment manufacturer. Savelle, who has nearly 30 years experience in landscape irrigation, will direct the efforts of the Weathermatic national sales team and work closely with distribution partners, professional contractors and landscape specifiers.

Chris Lofstrom has been promoted to Project Manager at Lewis Scully Gionet Inc. His experience ranges from landscape construction to project management and has been with LSG for just under one year. Lofstrom is managing construction documentation and administration phases for Sunrise Fox Hill, a senior living community in Bethesda, Md., as well as for President's Pointe, a new residential development in Jefferson County, W. Va.

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Board of Directors announced that it has selected Tanya K. Tolpegin to serve as chief executive officer of the organization effective immediately. She holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. Tolpegin joined PLANET in 2004 as its chief operating officer.
