THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT and Specifier News would like to thank all of you who took the time to fill out the subscription cards and the reader action cards from the premiere issue. We sent out about 4000 issues to licensed Landscape Architects and so far have received almost 300 responses. That’s an almost 10 percent response and its only from the first issue! This proves our notion that the Landscape Architecture industry is a cohesive unit in need of its own publication. Sure, there are a lot of other magazines out there, and the ASLA’s Landscape Architecture Magazine, to mention one, is a fine publication. But this is yours. No association, no dues. Just your own private little news and information source. We appreciate your support and would like to extend a perpetual offer to send us your news that we may be able to help promote the professionalism of this fantastic industry. If you feel we are doing a good job... Let us know. If you feel we are missing the mark... Let us know!!! It?EUR??,,????'???s our goal to provide you with current and useful information about the field of Landscape Architecture. Our current series on how to successfully start and run your own firm is not only aimed at the large percentage of you who feel that there is more to life than just picking up a paycheck. But is also designed to help those of you who are curious understand the bigger picture. If there is an area of concern you would like to know more about, give us a call. If we haven’t already researched the area we’ll look into it for you or at least help you find the answers. Well, that’s about it for this month. Just like to say one more time THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Oh, yeah, you may be interested to know what the front cover is all about. While recently traveling to Colorado I ran across a National Park in Utah called ‘The Arches.’ According to the map the one on the cover is called ‘The Landscape Arch.’ Wonder who designed that one? See you next month when we’ll talk a little about C.A.D. or Computer Aided Design. ?EUR??,,????'??+God Bless George Schmok, Publisher
