The world of landscape architecture is getting bigger and better! With each and every day, more and more people are joining the profession, recognizing the profession and adding to the profession. We’ve just finished the first complete list of registered Landscape Architects in the United States. Over 13,000 individuals hold licenses for the practice of landscape architecture. That’s just in the United States. Canada has another 700 plus registered Landscape Architects and with the U.S. Government (for whatever reasons) not requiring licenses and being the single largest employer of Landscape Architects in the world, the total number of legitimately operating Landscape Architects is approximately 15,000! The Landscape Architect and Specifier News now reaches more Landscape Architects than any other publication. And we’re not talking about a bunch of landscape contractors who also offer design. We’re also not talking about those who don’t feel it necessary or who haven’t yet earned a license. The readership and focus of LASN is and always will be towards those individuals who have dedicated their lives to the practice of landscape architecture. Now we’re beginning to embark on a paid circulation campaign to bring in those people who work with the registered Landscape Architect. Don’t worry, LASN will always be free to those who hold a license or work for the federal government, but if you want those in your office or those you work with to learn more about the profession, please pass along the special subscription card inside. We’re excited about the growth of this environmentally unequaled profession. As you grow, we expect to be there at the forefront of the communication network linking Landscape Architects with progressive development, both private and public. From California to New York, from Miami to Seattle, The Landscape Architect and Specifier News would like to thank you all for your fantastic support. We hope everyone has a great second half of 1988. ?EUR??,,????'??+God Bless George Schmok, Publisher
